Sidney George

Sidney is a Senior Accounting Technician at ATMOS Financial Services, bringing over 12 years of experience in public accounting to our team. Born and raised in Slave Lake, Alberta, Sidney relocated to Peace River after meeting her husband, where they are busy raising three young children. Her passion for accounting has been a constant alongside her family life, allowing her to develop a deep understanding of financial systems and solutions that benefit both our team and our clients.

Sidney holds a University Certificate in Accounting. She is highly effective at navigating interactions with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), ensuring that clients receive timely resolution of any enquiries, misunderstandings, or mixups with their tax accounts at the CRA. With extensive industry knowledge gained from years of working with oilfield, hospitality, and farm clients, Sidney brings a nuanced understanding of the unique financial challenges and opportunities within these sectors. Clients and team members find her approachable and easy to talk to, with an excellent ability to remain calm under pressure.

At ATMOS, Sidney is responsible for preparing working paper files for compilation engagements and assessing client information to ensure accurate and efficient financial management. Her meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills ensure that our clients receive precise and reliable accounting services tailored to their needs.

Beyond her professional life, Sidney co-founded The Avenge Foundation with friends, which provides funding for mental health supports for people in rural Alberta, especially children who lack access to such resources. She is also a devoted dance mom, supporting her oldest child in competitive dance competitions, and looks forward to expanding her role as a youth sports chauffeur for her younger children.
